ILC Instructor Spotlight

Jessica Kubik

JESSICA KUBIK

Ms. Kubik is not only an 18-year veteran elementary school teacher but the author, developer and creator of The Resourceful Teacher language arts curriculum.  She is ACSI certified, a collaborative learning specialist and an instructional coach among many other accomplishments.

She teaches all four core subjects at ILC as well as other enrichment courses. Ms. Kubik is the creator and developer of our leadership course titled, Leadership: Life Skills Through Collaborative Learning.  This incredible program teaches students life-long skills in the area of team development, listening and leadership. Our students love her course and working through fun challenges in a team setting.

 

 

JANE LAYTON

Ms. Layton joined Influence Learning Center after 25 years with the Orange County Unified School District.  She holds a Bachelors in Journalism and Public Relations from Arizona State University and a Masters in Teaching and a Masters in Curriculum Development from Grand Canyon University.

 

Ms. Layton holds multiple certifications including GATE, C-STEM, PLTW and ‘Write from the Beginning,’ She is also a certified trainer of teachers and has served on numerous committees during her career as a public school educator.

 

Beyond her incredible accomplishments is her heart and desire to pour truth, value and purpose into the lives of our students at Influence Learning Center.  She is passionate about teaching our students about Jesus and building student confidence.

 

Ms. Layton teaches all four core subjects including language arts, math, science and history as well as a book club.

BRITTANY MORALES

We are so blessed to have Mrs. Morales teaching our youngest students at Influence Learning Center.  Mrs. Morales earned her teaching certificate in early childhood education in 2003. She served as the lead preschool teacher for 6 years at Wonderland Preschool and later at LePort Montessori.  She brings a broad range of learning styles to her classroom setting and lesson planning.  In addition to preparing children for kindergarten, she excels at providing children hands-on learning opportunities through art, play and experiential learning.

 

Mrs. Morales also serves as one of our Brightminds Tutors where she provides further learning support in the areas of math and language arts to our elementary students.  

 

Mrs. Morales has such a passion for the Word of God. She has spent years studying the Bible (line-by-line).  We see the fruit of her studies as she pours biblical truths, love, value and purpose into her students each and every day.

Ms. Jennie Brown

JENNIE BROWN

Ms. Jennie Brown holds an undergraduate degree from Cal. State University in Child and Adolescent Development and a Masters Degree from Pacific Oaks College in Early Childhood Education.  She has been teaching young students since 2006 and later became Assistant Director at Catalyst Kids, a pre-primary educational program for students in preschool through Transitional Kindergarten. Between 2016 and 2022, she served as in instructor for the LEAP program Parenting Classes for North Orange County Community College District. Through her training and experience, Ms. Brown has developed an expertise in developing dynamic and enriching learning environments for her students and providing guidance and support to parents.  She is truly passionate about creating a love of learning in her students.   

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Brown to ILC to teach our kindergarten program. In addition, we are also excited to welcome her children, Julian and Nia into our program.

Dave Bedell

Dave Bedell

In 2021, Mr. Dave Bedell retired from Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School where he served as a science teacher for 25 years. Mr. Bedell holds a degree in Geology from Franklin and Marshall College and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Biola University, where he continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor in Geology for the Physical and Environmental Sciences Department and Rock Climbing and Backpacking for the Kinesiology, Health and Physical Education Department. 

 

Mr. Bedell has also taught multiple college-level and adult writing classes and has been serving in ministry and missions, with his wife Jill since approximately 2001. In 2013, Mr. Bedell received a Doctor of Practical Ministry through the Wagner Leadership Institute, H-Rock Pasadena. Mr. Bedell currently serves as a Member of Compassion Ministry at Dwelling Place Anaheim.  

 

We are so excited to welcome Mr. Bedell to ILC, where he will be teaching our Junior High science class as well as our High School math/sciences.  With his background and experience, we are looking forward to exploring additional electives and enrichment classes for our high school and junior high students! Rock-climbing anyone?

JOY Pell

Ms. Joy Pell is a natural born leader who brings tremendous “joy” and enthusiasm to every job she performs. After studying Child Psychology at Cornerstone University in Michigan, Joy began a successful career in sales and marketing with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where she met and eventually married her husband, Matt Pell. While raising 4 children, Joy decided to follow her passion for health and fitness earning multiple fitness and personal training certifications as well as her lifeguard, CPR, AED and First Aid certification. She has been working in the fitness industry since 2006. 

 

While raising her children, Ms. Pell was also very active in their education including serving with multiple school boards from 2014-2019. She is a founding member of Influence Church, where she has also served as a small group leader and Influence Music event coordinator. 

 

She has an incredible heart for ministry and is passionate about sharing the good news of our Lord and Savior with her students. We are so excited to have Ms. Pell join ILC where she will be teaching math and language arts classes.
