ILC Instructor Spotlight
JESSICA KUBIK
Ms. Kubik is not only an 18-year veteran elementary school teacher but the author, developer and creator of The Resourceful Teacher language arts curriculum. She is ACSI certified, a collaborative learning specialist and an instructional coach among many other accomplishments.
Ms. Kubik is the creator and developer of our leadership course titled, Leadership: Life Skills Through Collaborative Learning. This incredible program (for grades 3-8th) teaches students life-long skills in the area of team development, listening and leadership. Our students love her course and working through fun challenges in a team setting.
Next Fall, Ms. Kubik will instruct our 6-8th grade students in all four core subjects including language arts, math, science and history. She will also continue teaching her leadership course for students in grades 3rd-8th.
Finally. we are excited to announce that Influence Learning Center will be adopting The Resourceful Teacher language arts curriculum for grade levels 3-8.
KERI ATWELL
Mrs. Keri Atwell holds a master’s degree in teaching from College of St. Mary and a teaching certification from her home state of Nebraska. Since 2008, she has served as a Para-professional, a substitute teacher and as an ESL teacher. She has extensive experience in developing curriculum and thoughtful daily lesson plans that generate and maintain student interest. She is also particularly adept at creating a calm and stimulating learning environment for her students as well as building student confidence.
Next Fall, Mrs. Atwell will be teaching all four core subjects (math, language arts, science and history) to our 4th/5th grade students. Mrs. Atwell cares deeply for her students and is an all-around awesome teacher!
JANE LAYTON
Ms. Layton joined Influence Learning Center after 25 years with the Orange County Unified School District. She holds a Bachelors in Journalism and Public Relations from Arizona State University and a Masters in Teaching and a Masters in Curriculum Development from Grand Canyon University.
Ms. Layton holds multiple certifications including GATE, C-STEM, PLTW and ‘Write from the Beginning,’ She is also a certified trainer of teachers and has served on numerous committees during her career as a public school educator.
Beyond her incredible accomplishments is her heart and desire to pour truth, value and purpose into the lives of our students at Influence Learning Center. She is passionate about teaching our students about Jesus and building student confidence.
Next Fall, Ms. Layton will instruct our 1st-2nd grade students in all four core subjects including language arts, math, science and history.
We are also so excited to announce that Ms. Layton will offer two Write from the Beginning courses for our 3rd-8th grade students. Write from the Beginning…and Beyond is comprehensive writing program that uses Thinking Maps to build a strong foundation for writing across all genres and content areas. Students will learn to write personal narratives, imagine narratives, and information/expository in a meaningful, creative, and fun way. (Our level 2 class will include persuasive writing.)
BRITTANY MORALES
We are so blessed to have Mrs. Morales teaching our youngest students at Influence Learning Center. Mrs. Morales earned her teaching certificate in early childhood education in 2003. She served as the lead preschool teacher for 6 years at Wonderland Preschool and later at LePort Montessori. She brings a broad range of learning styles to her classroom setting and lesson planning. In addition to preparing children for kindergarten, she excels at providing children hands-on learning opportunities through art, play and experiential learning.
Mrs. Morales also serves as one of our Brightminds Tutors where she provides further learning support in the areas of math and language arts to our elementary students.
Mrs. Morales has such a passion for the Word of God. She has spent years studying the Bible (line-by-line). We see the fruit of her studies as she pours biblical truths, love, value and purpose into her students each and every day.
Veronica DeLuca
We would like to introduce you to one of our amazing creative professionals serving as an instructor for our Creative Arts Program: Veronica DeLuca.
Ms. DeLuca graduated from art school with a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Graphic & Web Design and has been working in the field for over 20 years. Her professional experience includes designing licensed products for brands like Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Tech Deck Skateboards. In addition, she previously served as Senior Designer for Entrepreneur Magazine for 7 years, where she managed a design team overseeing daily design updates and the redesign of Entrepreneur.com.
Currently, Ms. DeLuca runs a few businesses including Creation Creates Creative, which focuses on Graphic Design, Web Design, and Screen Printing. She also has an apparel company and most recently started Mixed Media Kids, which focuses on art education.
Above and beyond all of her skills and experience, she truly has a heart to lead the next generation of visual artists and to see these students develop a passion for creating Kingdom content, products and apparel.
